Questions of the frequent kind
I’d like to book a homeshoot, what days do you work?
Your homsehoot can be any day of the week including evenings and weekends.
Do I need to do anything thing to prepare my house?
No, you don’t need to do anything before the shoot. When I arrive, I’ll have a quick look around and work out the best place to set up my portable studio. A hard floor works best so generally I set up in the kitchen or front room.
How long does a homeshoot take?
Homeshoots usually last roughly 1 hour, but there's no real time limit as it depends on how many people and/or pets there are and also how cooperative said people and/or pets are. :)
What type photos do you take?
During the course of the homeshoot, I will take a mixture of photos including group shots and individuals. If there is a particular photo you’d like me to take or recreate, just let me know, I’m more than happy to take any photos you’d like.
How many people and/or pets can be photographed?
There’s no limit to the amount of people and pets that can take part in the homeshoot, so get your family and friends around. The more the merrier!
How many photos do you take?
It all depends on how many people and pets there are to be photographed but a family of 4 with one dog would have roughly 70 photos to choose from.
What should I wear for the homeshoot?
I recommend comfortable casual clothes but whatever you go for, it's best if everyone is wearing the same style of clothes. It can look a bit odd if styles are mixed i.e: one person is wearing a suit or dress and another is wearing tracksuit pants and a t-shirt.
What colours should I wear?
I strongly recommend against solid white and cream. As my background is white, people tend to blend in to the background if they are wearing white. Go for colours! Reds, blues, greens, etc, all work really well. White spots and stripes are fine too, just not solid whites or creams. You can also all be matching or opposites if you want, both look great.
Can I wear different outfits?
Yes, having a second or third change of clothes adds a great variety to the finished photos.
Can we use props?
Of course! Incorporating the kids' favourite toys and teddies is a brilliant way to relax them and generate natural expressions. Scarves, hats, big coats, stuff like that, work really well. Incorporating props from a sport or a hobby or even an instrument is also great for adding that personal touch to your images.
What if my dog is white?
That’s no problem at all. I have lots of other colour backgrounds such as Blue, Red, Green, Orange, Yellow, Pink and Grey that we can use for your dog's individual photos.
My dog is very nervous, will that be a problem?
Not at all. I photograph nervous dogs all the time so it won't be a problem. We can just take it easy and let them get used to me in their own time. I'll also have lots of treats with me to win them over.
When can I see the photos?
Usually 1 week later. After the shoot, I'll arrange a date/time to return and show you all the photos and you can choose to purchase your favourites.
How can I purchase the photos?
You can choose to purchase your photos as Prints, Framed, on Canvas or as Digital Files. A full products and price list can be found here: Products and Prices
What method of payment do you take?
You can choose to pay by cash, cheque or via Revolut. I currently do not take card.
What’s Revolut?
Revolut is a phone app that you can use to securely send and receive money. It’s described as a ‘Digital Banking Alternative’ and I highly recommend it. Check it out here: www.revolut.com
